ABOUT ME

I grew up with horses, and spent my childhood and teenage years riding ponies madly around the countryside and eventually with a sweet and caring ex racehorse, Flora, who has a sensitive and intuitive character. Unfortunately, she experienced chronic pain in her lumbar back region and recovered from a number of injuries. This was perhaps a blessing in disguise as this led me to some of my first experiences with equine physiotherapy. I later studied equine studies at my local college and learnt more about training schooling, anatomy and therapy. It wasn’t until many years later after working in multiple different facets of the equine industry and becoming interested in different training methods did I realise I wanted to train to do something to help horses and animals with their bodies.

It struck me that we as riders and trainers often ask a lot physically and mentally from horses - to carry us and be our partners in and out of the saddle. Over many years of being involved with horses, I feel I owe them my best. All of my work in the equine industry, from eventing to trekking, led to studying veterinary physiotherapy at Writtle University to a post graduate level where I was lucky enough to train under some inspirational practitioners and gain the anatomical, physiological and practical knowledge I needed to become the practitioner I am today.I enjoy continuing my professional development, attending courses, keeping up to date with research so I can improve my work and help animals to be in the happiest and most comfortable state possible .
